Conditional Use Permit Approved for San Jose Care Facility

Last week the San Jose Planning Commission approved the request for a Conditional Use Permit at a 1.77-acre unaddressed parcel located on Union Avenue between Byron Way and Cambrianna Drive. The permit allows the removal of 17 trees and the start of site preparation for the construction of a new 48,051-square-foot residential care facility at the location. The facility will be built only on the western portion of the site, and it will not require the demolition or alteration of the existing Casa di Mir Montessori School.

Office to Inpatient Care Facility Unanimously Approved for Willow Glen San Jose

An office building in the Willow Glenn area of San Jose has closed and is slated for redevelopment as an inpatient care facility. The LGTC Group filed for a conditional use permit at the site, allowing them to operate a 24-hour residential care facility serving up to 48 patients. The new facility will combine the existing 7,369-square-foot office building and a 2,548 nearby garage.

San Jose Airport Proposes Rezoning for the Coleman and Hedding Commercial Development Project

Yesterday, the San Jose Planning Commission reviewed approvals for the Coleman and Hedding Commercial Development Project, including recommendations for a rezone and amendment to the 2040 envision plan. The approximately 11.37-acre project area consists of seven parcels and two street vacations along Coleman Avenue and West Hedding Street. The parcels are currently zoned with no designation, OS Open Space, LI Light Industrial, and R-2 Two-Family Residence, but the project would be rezoned as Combined Commercial and Industrial as part of a planned development district, pending city council approval.

Major Office-to-Residential Conversion Planned for CityView Plaza San Jose

In a major pivot, developer Jay Paul Co. has decided to convert a large portion of the ongoing CityView Plaza project from office to residential. The site, at the northeast corner of Almaden Boulevard and Park Avenue in Downtown San Jose, will transform an existing four-office building campus into 320 units, rebooting construction on the project which paused last year due to poor market conditions.
