The proposal will replace a single-story structure with apartments designed by one of the Bay Area’s most prominent architecture firms, Stanley Saitowitz | Natoma Architects. Riaz Capital is the project developer.
New plans have been filed for a single-family home at 6069 Skyline Boulevard in the Oakland Hills, Alameda County. Peter David Gilbert Architects is responsible for the design, with an Orinda-based resident as the property owner.
Crews have started preparing for the demolition of a four-story structure ahead of construction of the 19-story apartment block at 1510 Webster Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. Helped by an updated California Building Code passed in 2021, 1510 Webster is expected to be the second tallest wooden tower in the country. Oakland-based oWOW is the project developer and architect.
The Planning Commission has issued new building permits for 389 Ninth Avenue in Oakland’s waterfront development, Brooklyn Basin. The six-story building, also called Parcel A2, or Foon Lok East, will contribute 124 affordable housing units to the 3,700-unit masterplan. MidPen Housing Corporation is the building developer, with Signature Development Group responsible for the master plan.
Recent permit activity shows plans are moving ahead to entitle a Life Sciences building at 2900 Harbor Bay Parkway in Alameda, Alameda County. The project would reshape a vacant 5.5-acre plot of waterfront land with a Research and Development building rather than the existing entitled plans for a Marriott Inn hotel. JLL is responsible for the property’s marketing.
