Plans have been revealed for a $1 Billion medical campus in Emeryville, Alameda County. The announcement comes after the Sacramento-based not-for-profit Sutter Health purchased the 12-acre Emery Yards development in the densely-built city, featuring two existing multi-story structures, a massive parking garage, and several vacant lots. Sutter Health will be collaborating with Sutter East Bay Medical Group to manage the site.
Updated permits have been filed six years later for a five-story residential infill project at 3223 Filbert Street in Emeryville. The new filing show continued interest for a pre-application proposing the development. J Langston Ewell is listed as the project applicant. Architecture by Langston is serving as the project architect.
The Emeryville Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for the three-building affordable housing proposal at 5890, 5900, and 6150 Christie Avenue tomorrow. The proposal will create retail and 362 homes for a mix of household sizes by the Public Market and the city’s Amtrak station. EAH Housing is responsible for the application.

CA Ventures has withdrawn plans for their 14-story life sciences building at 5850 Shellmound Way in Emeryville, Alameda County. The move comes as the life science market has been slowing down across the Bay Area, and many new projects are coming online in the coming years.
