Detailed plans have been published for the mixed-use redevelopment of the former United States Geological Survey offices at 345 Middlefield Road in Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The property could accommodate hundreds of new apartments and nearly double the office space next to the proposed Parkline masterplan, and be less than half a mile from a potential new skyscraper at 80 Willow Road. Presidio Bay Ventures is responsible for the application.

Grading permits have been issued for the eight-story affordable senior housing complex at 2125 Telegraph Avenue in Uptown Oakland, Alameda County. The project is looking to add 97 units near the intersection of Telegraph Avenue and Grand Avenue. Mercy Housing is the project developer.

Crews have completed demolition of University Hall and its annex building at 2140 University Avenue in Downtown Berkeley, Alameda County. Our recent site visit shows the parcel is currently graded in preparation for the first of two phases to rise for the UC Berkeley Innovation Zone development, the six-story Bakar Labs for Energy & Materials.

Building permits have been filed for the expansion of NVIDIA’s headquarters at 2400 Condensa Street in Santa Clara. The application comes as new renderings have been published for what would become the third building, to be named NVIDIA Starbase, designed by Gensler for the world’s highest-valued company. Devcon Construction is listed as the project applicant.

The proposal will bring several dozen permanent supportive housing units with $14 million of funding from the Project Homekey initiative. Final approval has been given for the Mission Point master plan at 3005 Democracy Way, Santa Clara. The wide-ranging development would construct four different structures with between 1,800 to 2,600 apartments, up between two to three million square feet of commercial real estate, retail, public open space, and a childcare facility across nearly fifty acres. Office-to-Housing Conversion Starts at 785 Market Street, San Francisco

The official kick-off ceremony has been held for the conversion of the historic Humboldt Bank office building at 785 Market Street in San Francisco’s urban core. Crews are now expected to start turning the 19-story century-old slab tower into 124 units of housing. Forge Development Partners is responsible for the project.
