CEQA Notice for Mission Point Project in Santa Clara

A CEQA Notice has been published for the proposed Mission Point Project in the City of Santa Clara. The publication follows a community meeting held by the city with the developer and the community in late March. In its latest reduced iteration, plans for Mission Point are to build over three million square feet of offices, 1,800 new homes, retail, and a childcare facility. Kylli is the project sponsor, with Gensler responsible for the design.

Design Review Meeting Scheduled for Unsettled Howard Terminal Ballpark District

Oakland’s Design Review Committee is scheduled to review plans for Howard Terminal tomorrow, the proposed $12 billion waterfront ballpark district for the Oakland A’s. The meeting will be held in the shadow of great uncertainty as the baseball team remains silent on if it is still committed to the project. Delays and the risk that the baseball stadium would not be ready in time have led the team to tease a move to Las Vegas.

Future Remains Uncertain for the Oakland A’s $12 Billion Howard Terminal Development

The Oakland City Council voted to approve a financial term sheet for Howard Terminal, a mixed-use development with housing, offices, and a new baseball stadium proposed by the Oakland A’s with an estimated $12 billion price tag. However, A’s president David Kaval has repeatedly signaled that yesterday’s approval could spell the end of the team’s future in Oakland because the term sheet approved is not what the team wanted. While Mayor Libby Schaaf is hopeful about the project’s future, Kaval was noncommittal about if the team would continue to negotiate. As it stands, the development is proceeding on thin ice.

Updated Plans for 3333 California Street, Laurel Heights, San Francisco

Proposed modifications to the redevelopment plan give minor alterations to the approved mixed-use project of 3333 California Street in Laurel Heights, San Francisco. The development will replace the existing UCSF Laurel Heights property with 752 new apartments, a quarter of which will be affordable housing, retail, and more. The changes expand Euclid Green’s public open space by not building one duplex townhome, modifications to the Presidio Steps, and an adjustment to the project tree count. Prado Group is the project developer.
