Poor House Bistro Moves for Google Downtown West Masterplan

The Victorian-era home to Poor House Bistro has been moved from 91 South Autumn Street to 317 West St. John Street in Little Italy, San Jose. The relocation comes ahead of Downtown West, Google’s massive plans to redevelop the low-density area surrounding Diridon Station with high-density offices, housing, and retail. Project site maps indicate 91 South Autumn Street will be replaced with an office building.

New Renderings, Timeline Established for McEvoy-Dupont Affordable Housing, West San Carlos, San Jose

SERA Architects has published new designs for a planned two-tower residential development at 280 McEvoy Street and 699 West San Carlos Street in West San Carlos, San Jose. The proposal would create 365 new affordable homes split between the Family and the Workforce towers by Diridon Station. Lendlease and First Community Housing are jointly responsible for the development.

Photo Update For BIG-designed Google Caribbean Project in Sunnyvale

Excavation work is underway; that is the headlining story from a recent site visit to the 40.5-acre construction site of Google Caribbean in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. Two Ziggurat-like office buildings will soon rise with design by Bjarke Ingels Group, an internationally renowned architecture firm founded in Denmark. Google has tapped Sares Regis as development manager.

SHoP Architects-designed YouTube HQ Expansion Approved by San Bruno City Council

The San Bruno City Council has approved plans for Google to expand YouTube’s headquarters with over two million square feet of office space, potential housing, shops, and a hotel as part of the Bayhill Specific Plan. The project will extend across five separate phases. Phase one starts with SHoP Architects-designed offices at 1300 Bayhill Drive and 1350 Grundy Lane, San Bruno, San Mateo County. The nearly half a million square foot phase. HLW is the architect of record.
