Environmental Review Published For SRI Campus Redevelopment, Menlo Park

The Environmental Impact Report has been published for Parkline, the redevelopment of the SRI International office campus near downtown Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The project seeks to replace most existing offices and parking across the gated campus with state-of-the-art research facilities, hundreds of homes, and over twenty acres of publicly accessible open space. The city’s detailed document is an important step that allows the project sponsor, Lane Partners, to pursue final approval.

Historic Review Published for Davies Symphony Hall, San Francisco

The San Francisco Symphony is looking to reconstruct its existing concert hall with a new interior designed by Gehry Partners, one of the best modern architects of concert halls. New permits have been filed for the project, and the city has published a new historic resource review on the Davies Symphony Hall in the Civic Center. The review concludes that, given its young age, “the building is not yet eligible for listing” as a historic building in the national or state registers.

Significant San Francisco Symphony Hall Renovation Proposed

The San Francisco Symphony has started the entitlement process for renovations of the Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall at 201 Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco’s Civic Center. While plans are preliminary, the Symphony has hired local Mark Cavagnero Associates and the world-renowned Gehry Partners to produce a dramatic reimagination inside and out. Construction is expected to cost at least $100 million.
