The newly published historic review evaluation has determined that 536 Mission Street is eligible for historic designation as an example of Late Modernist and Brutalist architecture. The structure was built in 1979 for Golden Gate University in SoMa, San Francisco. The evaluation was published ahead of plans to replace the GGU campus with the city’s fifth- or sixth-tallest skyscraper.
Project permits have been filed for the rehabilitation of the historic Clay Theater at 2261 Fillmore Street in Pacific Heights, San Francisco. The application looks to restore the 113-year-old single-screen movie theater, which has been closed for four years. The plans are part of the Upper Fillmore Revitalization Project, led by Cody Allen and investor Neil Mehta.
Plans for a new residential development at 1000 Broadway in Russian Hill, San Francisco, continue to move forward as developers seek key zoning variances to bring the project to fruition. The project proposal includes the development of four separate buildings containing a total of five dwelling units on a currently vacant corner lot. Russian Hill Lending LLC is listed as the owner. Page & Turnbull is responsible for the designs.
Plans are going up for public review tomorrow for the seven-story addition at 2083 Ellis Street north of the panhandle in San Francisco. The proposal will be up for informational review, with ministerial protection through Senate Bill 423. John Stricklin of NOPA Heights Partners LLC is responsible for the application.

The application revives plans from nearly two decades ago to add two single-family homes and a duplex. Keith Gapusan of P3 Capital Partners is responsible for the project.
