Yet another high-rise proposal demonstrates the gravitational pull for Diridon Station and Google’s Downtown West project in San Jose. Steinberg Hart and Imwalle Properties have announced plans for 250 Stockton Avenue, a 16-story office tower, to replace a single-story commercial structure within walking distance of the future end-of-line for the Silicon Valley BART extension. The proposal aims to capitalize on the district’s urban qualities and access to public transit.

VTA Survey Open for BART Station Design Feedback

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, i.e., VTA, is welcoming the public to provide design feedback on the four future San Jose BART Stations. In particular, VTA is looking for ideas of visual elements to integrate into each of the stations. Along with the survey, the Authority has released some of the most detailed illustrations yet of the future transit hubs. The website is part of phase two in community engagement, the Construction Education and Outreach Plan. The website will receive its final comments on Friday, September 17th.

The San Jose planning department is scheduled to review the draft supplemental environmental impact report (SEIR) for a proposed Marriott Hotel at 495 West San Carlos Street in Diridon, San Jose. A Site Development Permit has been submitted seeking the demolition of three residential units, a water tank building, and three commercial buildings. Urban Catalyst is the project developer. Studio Current is responsible for the design concepts and construction. The hotel will feature landscaped areas designed by Kimley Horn
