The plan will merge two mostly vacant parcels spanning nearly 16 acres for a new warehouse. Texas-based developer Hines is responsible for the application.
Construction has officially started on 39 affordable homes with a groundbreaking ceremony at 1367 University Avenue in Berkeley, Alameda County. The project will create housing for formerly homeless individuals, giving access to amenities, on-site services, and close access to the North Berkeley BART Station. San Francisco-based Panoramic Interests is the developer while Building Opportunities for Self Sufficiency will manage the property and leasing.
Construction is wrapping up for the latest life science development at 1091 Industrial Road in San Carlos, San Mateo County. The project is part of a new hub for the biotech and medical research market on the Peninsula. Premia Capital and Prince Street Partners were jointly responsible for the development before selling it to the Florida State Board of Administration in 2021 for $177 million.
Landsea Homes has announced the opening of Alameda Marina, a new townhome development along the Alameda waterfront facing Oakland. The project is part of a master plan that has reshaped the 43-acre area of former low-slung buildings and surface parking with townhomes, an apartment complex, and new public open space. Landsea has launched sales, with units starting under a million dollars.
The City of Berkeley has approved the SB35 application for 3120 Shattuck Avenue in South Berkeley, Alameda County. This paves the way for the applicant to receive a streamlined ministerial review for the proposed eight-story permanently affordable housing proposal to be called Woolsey Gardens. NorCal Community Land Trust is responsible for the application.
