The filing comes a few months after the preliminary filing, which intends to add nearly two hundred units to a vacant triangular parcel close to the CSU Sacramento campus. Plans for a 23-story UC Berkeley Dorm are expected to be discussed this Wednesday in a meeting with the Finance and Capital Strategies Committee for the Regents of the University of California. The project will bring 1,625 beds and a new dining hall to 2200 Bancroft Way in Southside, Berkeley. Construction is estimated to start as early as next year and cost nearly half a billion dollars.

San Jose State University has opened the hotel-to-dorm conversion of Spartan Village on The Paseo, a former hotel located at 184 South Market Street in Downtown San Jose. The 13-story building was transformed from being the southern tower in the Signia by Hilton hotel complex, formerly The Fairmont San Jose, into a nearly 700-bed student housing addition just west of the SJSU campus. The over $100 million project was led by Throckmorton Partners.
Development permits have been filed seeking the approval of a new residential project proposed at 7700 College Town Drive in Sacramento. The project proposal includes the development of a new four-story building to be used as a student housing apartment complex building. A two-story office building spanning an area of 35,040 square feet will be demolished for the project to be developed.
