Groundbreaking for Balboa Park BART Housing in the Outer Mission, San Francisco

Groundbreaking has officially occurred for the nine-story Balboa Park Upper Yard apartment building, a transit-oriented development poised to create new affordable residences in the Outer Mission area of San Francisco. The proposal would produce 131 new homes for the housing-strapped city right next to the Balboa Park BART station. Mission Housing Development Corporation and the Related Companies are responsible for the development.

First New Structure Tops Out, New Renderings for Treasure Island Redevelopment, San Francisco

Construction has topped out on the first new building in the Treasure Island redevelopment plan. The progress comes as San Francisco’s Mayor London Breed embarked on a boat ride from the Ferry Building to Treasure Island’s new passenger boat terminal last week, ahead of the January 2022 start of public ferry rides. Treasure Island’s roughly 8,000 unit redevelopment plan is led by Treasure Island Community Development (TICD), a partnership with Stockbridge Capital Group, Wilson Meany, and Lennar Corporation.

Construction has officially started on the Potrero Power Station development in Dogpatch, San Francisco, following yesterday’s groundbreaking ceremony. With Mayor London Breed in attendance, the event marks the beginning of a 29-acre redevelopment that will open up a portion of the city’s eastern waterfront to the public with 5.3 million square feet of offices, housing, and retail around public parks and transit featuring designs by Foster + Partners and Herzog & de Meuron. California Barrel Company of Associate Capital is responsible for the development.

New Affordable Housing Reaches Completion At 1150 3rd Street, Mission Bay, San Francisco

A new apartment complex has reached its successful completion at 1150 3rd Street in Mission Bay. The affordable housing complex is given its name in honor of the late former mayor, Edwin M. Lee, and will offer housing to unhoused veterans and low-income families. OCII, Chinatown Community Development Center, and Swords to Plowshares, a veteran-focused nonprofit worked together to develop the property. Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects, Saida + Sullivan Design Partners are the architects responsible for design and construction.
