Largest Affordable Housing Project in Berkeley Opens at 2012 Berkeley Way

The largest affordable housing project in Berkeley opened its doors last week with an official ceremony for the Berkeley Way Apartments at 2012 Berkeley Way. The event launched the opening of low-income and permanent supportive units and the Hope Center, which now provides supportive services for residents and the community in the downtown urban center, with BART and AC Transit both nearby. The project is a joint venture with BRIDGE Housing and BFHP.

Construction Starts for Star View Court on Treasure Island, San Francisco

Construction has started for a seven-story affordable housing project at 78 Johnson Street as part of San Francisco’s Treasure Island megadevelopment. Star View Court will create 138 new homes at parcel C3.1, close to the nearly-complete Maceo May Apartments, offering replacement housing for existing Treasure Island residents. The project is a collaborative effort by Mercy Housing and Catholic Charities.

Construction Starts for Affordable Condos at Mission Bay Block 9A, San Francisco

While facade installation is finishing up for Mission Bay Block 9, construction has officially started for the fully-affordable condominiums at Block 9A in Mission Bay, San Francisco. Both projects will bring new affordable housing to the city. Block 9 is dedicated to formerly homeless individuals, and Block 9A will sell 148 affordable condominiums opening by 2024.

Facade Installation Tops Out for Three Towers at Mission Rock, San Francisco

Facade installation is nearly done for the three new towers in Mission Rock, San Francisco. Both the new Visa Headquarters and The Canyon are completely wrapped, with work on Building B almost finished. Meanwhile, Site work is continuing for Studio Gang’s glazed-green tower, the fourth and final tower to rise during Phase One, with the project crane already in place. The joint venture dubbed Mission Rock Partners expects to welcome its first tenants and residents next year.
