New Building Permits Filed for Mission District Affordable Housing, San Francisco

New building permits have been filed for the nine-story affordable housing plan at 1515 South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District. The 168-unit infill has been designated a priority by the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development to streamline approval. Chinatown Community Development Center and the Mission Economic Development Agency are jointly responsible for the project.

Development Permits Approved for Liberation Park Residences & Market Hall, East Oakland

Development permits have been approved for the six-story residential infill and market hall at 6955 Foothill Boulevard in East Oakland, Alameda County. The Liberation Park Residences and Market Hall will replace an unbuilt parcel with 120 affordable houses and a permanent location for the farmers market that operates on Liberation Park today. The filing was expedited thanks to Senate Bills 35 and 330.

Development Permit Filed for 430 Broadway In Jack London, Oakland

Development permits have been filed seeking the approval of a new mixed-use project at 430 Broadway in the Jack London district, Oakland. The project proposal includes the construction of three buildings offering commercial spaces and up to 300 residential units at affordable rates. The project calls for the demolition of an existing four-story government building and associated surface parking on the site. Related Companies and East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) are the project developers. David Baker Architects is responsible for the design, with Y.A. Studio operating as the associate architect. EinwillerKuehl is responsible for landscape architecture.
