SFYIMBY Site Visit: Major Construction Progress at Mission Rock, San Francisco

Construction work is moving forward at speed for Mission Rock, a dense mixed-use project reshaping 28 acres of former parking along the San Francisco waterfront in Mission Bay. Concrete is in place for the podium for The Canyon to introduce Mission Rock’s first housing across 24 floors. Next to The Canyon, facade installation has started for Visa’s new headquarters, as the financial corporation’s President, Ryan McInerney, recently reaffirmed plans to remain in San Francisco.

New Renderings Revealed for Balboa Reservoir Development, San Francisco

New renderings have been revealed for Blocks C, D, E, and F of the Balboa Reservoir development plan around 11 Frida Kahlo Way in San Francisco. The project will rise across from the City College of San Francisco campus, replacing 17 acres of surface parking and open land with over a thousand mixed-income apartments, retail, and childcare facilities. Balboa Reservoir is a joint venture between BRIDGE Housing and AvalonBay Communities.

3001 24th Street Opens in Mission District, San Francisco

Casa de la Mision has celebrated the grand opening in San Francisco’s Mission District neighborhood. Casa de la Mission is a five-story affordable housing development at 3001 24th Street. Now open, it has opened 44 new apartments intended to housing formerly-unhoused senior residents of the city. Each resident will be referred through the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing’s Coordinated Entry system.

Future Visa Global HQ Tops Out at Mission Rock, San Francisco

Construction is moving quickly for Mission Rock, the multi-tower waterfront development by Tishman Speyer across from Oracle Park in Mission Bay, San Francisco. The first hints of vertical work were reported in spring, and floors started to rise for the future Visa global headquarters at block G by early summer. Now, the office building has topped out, with foundation work preparing for the vertical rise of the remaining three buildings in phase one of Mission Rock.
