City Planning Commission of Emeryville has proposed a public hearing for an affordable housing project proposed at 4300 San Pablo Avenue in Emeryville. The project proposal includes the development of a five-story 100% affordable intergenerational housing project with onsite amenities and community spaces. KTGY Architects is responsible for the design concepts.
Filed in 2018, plans by Onni Group and IBI Group proposed a 638-foot tall apartment tower and a 16-story office building that would launch Emeryville, a dense city between Berkeley and Oakland, into the Bay Area’s skyline. Eventually, plans for the tower were withdrawn in 2020. Now, a new developer expects to build at 5801-5861 Christie Avenue, but with a significantly reduced profile.
A study session to review a proposed Final Development Plan (FDP) of the Marketplace Redevelopment in Emeryville is scheduled today. The project proposal includes the development of a mixed-use transit hub with residential and retail space. Plans also call for the construction of two buildings offering space for Research and Development. Heller Manus Architects is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
Permits have been filed seeking the approval of a commercial project at 5850 Shellmound Way in Emeryville. The project proposal includes the development of a fourteen-story building offering spaces for retail and research & development use. Plans also call for the demolition of an existing office building spanning an area of 61,000 square feet. Shellmound Christie Corporation is the property owner. Solomon Cordwell Buenz is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
The Emeryville Planning Commission will study plans Thursday for three stocky towers overlooking the Eastshore Freeway at 1650 65th Street. If built, the project would create 144 apartments along with commercial space for offices and laboratories. Longfellow Real Estate Partners is responsible for the application.
