Public Comment for Affordable Housing in Point Reyes Station, Marin County

Public comment has started on repurposing a former United States Coast Guard site at 100 Commodore Webster Drive into affordable housing in Point Reyes Station, an unincorporated town in Marin County. The project will bring new life to the county-owned property next to the local population center, which includes two grocery stores, restaurants, and the West Marin Elementary School. Eden Housing and the Community Land Trust Association of West Marin are jointly responsible for the development.

Public Comment Open for Northgate Mall Redevelopment in San Rafael

The City of San Rafael has published the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Northgate Mall redevelopment. This marks a significant step for the Marin County developer to move forward while receiving community feedback. If built, the plan would add over a thousand homes to the underperforming mall, though the document shares that construction could last over a decade.

Merrill Morris Partners is responsible for landscape architecture. Adobe Associates is the civil engineer.

New plans have been submitted for a six-story apartment complex to rise at 605-613 Bridgeway in Sausalito, Marin County. The proposal will bring 47 homes and five retail shops along the city’s picturesque waterfront, including six affordable units. Linda Fotsch is the property owner and applicant for the project, filing through Willy’s LLC.

Belvedere Approves Mallard Pointe Development, Marin County

Belvedere City Council recently pushed forward the residential proposal along Mallard Pointe, Marin County. The 40-unit project is the city’s largest housing development to get greenlit in decades despite stiff resistance from local NIMBYs. If the project had been rejected, the developer was prepared to pursue a much larger infill using the Builder’s Remedy.

Plans for Modest Apartment Development at Mallard Pointe, Belvedere

Updated plans have been reviewed by the Belvedere Planning Commission for a 42-unit residential complex along Mallard Pointe in the small Marin County island city. After a seven-hour meeting, the Planning Commission approved a motion to continue the project to the Design Review Commission. Thompson Dorfman is overseeing the development.

State Gives Green Light For Affordable Housing in San Quentin

The decision gives the green light to pursue construction, avoiding the need for local approval from the notoriously anti-housing county staff.
