Ribbon Cutting For 23-Story Verde in Mission Rock, San Francisco

Tishman Speyer and the Giants gathered the project team and elected officials yesterday afternoon to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Verde, the 23-story residential addition in San Francisco’s Mission Rock master plan. The green tile-clad tower is the fourth and final structure in phase one of the multi-phase redevelopment of the Giant’s 28 acres of surface parking. The building offers 254 apartments alongside 59 units of affordable housing.

Mission Rock Opens Waterfront Park, Starts Leasing for Verde, San Francisco

While the San Francisco Giants are settling into the new baseball season, they have been welcoming another crowd just across McCovey Cove. The team, in partnership with Tishman Speyer and other stakeholders, celebrated the official opening of China Basin Park yesterday morning, two days after announcing that leasing has started for the Studio Gang-designed residential tower, aptly named Verde. Construction is nearly over for the first phase of the city’s mixed-use Mission Rock master plan.

Amidst a struggling commercial real estate market, Mission Rock has proven a bright spot for San Francisco. Phase one of construction is wrapping up now in Mission Bay, which Tishman Speyer credited to Visa’s decision to move their global headquarters into Building G, and the team announced five new retail tenants secured last month. Now, the podium office space in The Canyon has been leased to Capgemini America, the US arm of the France-based global technology company.

Retail Line-Up Revealed for Mission Rock, San Francisco

Mission Rock Partners has announced the first round of retail tenants to move into the nearly-complete phase one of Mission Rock at San Francisco’s Mission Bay waterfront. The five San Francisco-based tenants include two restaurants, a bakery, an outdoor gym, and a barbershop. Doors are expected to start opening in early 2024.

The 23-Story Canyon Opens in Mission Rock, San Francisco

The Canyon, an aptly named 23-story residential tower in Mission Rock, officially opened yesterday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Mission Bay. The celebration kicks off leasing for the 283 apartments, including 102 affordable units, inside the tallest building to open in San Francisco this year. The Canyon is part of the 28-acre master plan by Mission Rock Partners, a joint venture with the San Francisco Giants and Tishman Speyer.

Studio Gang-Designed Tower Topped Out in Mission Rock, San Francisco

Construction has topped out with the installation of the eye-catching green ceramic tile facade just one floor from its peak on Mission Rock Parcel F in San Francisco’s Mission Bay. The 23-story tower is the last of four builds in phase one of the Mission Rock master plan. Parcel F was developed by Mission Rock Partners, a joint venture by the San Francisco Giants and Tishman Speyer. Chicago-based Studio Gang is the design architect.

Gladstone Expansion Announced for 1650 Owens Street in Mission Bay, San Francisco

Gladstone has announced plans for a new expansion of their current location at 1650 Owens Street in Mission Bay, San Francisco. The nonprofit life sciences research organization has plans to increase its floorplan capacity by over a third, creating new laboratories and room for around two hundred new employees. Construction is expected to begin late next year.

Construction Tops Out for 1450 Owens Street in Mission Bay, San Francisco

Crews have topped out on the seven-story life sciences development at 1450 Owens Street in San Francisco’s Mission Bay. The steel frame stands 109 feet above street level, rising over I-280, while the site’s ground floor is visible to passing Caltrain riders. Truebeck is the general contractor, and Alexandria Real Estate Equities is the project developer.

Sitework Underway for Mission Bay School in San Francisco

Excavation work is underway at Mission Bay South Block 14, preparing to construct the San Francisco neighborhood’s new public school. The facilities will sit on a 2.5-acre site, opening up classrooms and community facilities to boost all students and teachers in the San Francisco Unified School District system. Construction has topped out with facade installation starting for the new University of San Francisco Clinical Facility at Mission Bay Block 34 in Mission Bay, San Francisco. The five-story medical center is rising next to the now-open nine-story parking garage at the corner of 3rd and Mariposa Street, further establishing the urban UCSF campus. Block 34 is expected to open later this year.
