The project proposal includes the development of a new residential community offering 42 townhomes built in six buildings and 290+ apartment units built within a seven-story building. The project site is currently developed with a 67,984 square foot industrial building and surface parking lot which were constructed in 1985 and would be demolished to construct the project. KTGY Architecture + Planning is responsible for the designs.

Super Micro Computer has filed detailed plans for a new tech hub at 550 East Brokaw Road in north San Jose, Santa Clara County. The company first got involved with the property last October and purchased the site from Bay West Development this February for $80 million. The plans now will replace the former Fry’s Electronics store with an office and manufacturing complex.

San Jose State University has opened the hotel-to-dorm conversion of Spartan Village on The Paseo, a former hotel located at 184 South Market Street in Downtown San Jose. The 13-story building was transformed from being the southern tower in the Signia by Hilton hotel complex, formerly The Fairmont San Jose, into a nearly 700-bed student housing addition just west of the SJSU campus. The over $100 million project was led by Throckmorton Partners.

The project was one of several high-profile projects within the Westbank masterplan developed in collaboration with Urban Community. This shift marks the fourth iteration for the vacant freeway-side parcel and the second time Urban Community proposed housing.
