The plans indicate a significant scale-up from earlier proposals, raising the total number of units from 53 to 99. The project’s developer, Satellite Affordable Housing Associates, will be using Senate Bill 35 as a means of expediting the higher-density project.
Site development permits have been filed for a fully affordable apartment complex at 860 West San Carlos Street in San Jose, Santa Clara County. A major San Jose-based development project at 211-281 River Oaks Parkway has been purchased by two New York-based firms acting through an affiliate. TPG and Angelo Gordon are major real-estate sponsors on the East Coast, but their ownership of the site is a significant pivot from the previous development under the local Valley Oak Partners. Supporters of the project can hope that the new owners will be able to bring an injection of capital to the project, speeding up its production.
New affordable housing has officially opened at 1221 Lick Avenue next to Tamien Station in San Jose, Santa Clara County. The Tamien Station Apartments is a 135-unit transit-oriented development built to replace a surface parking lot owned by the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. The Core Companies is the project developer.
