The proposal will replace an office campus and a small strip mall next to the city’s Caltrain station. Bixby Land Company is responsible for the application.
Preliminary permits have been filed for the fully affordable phase two of the Santa Clara County Housing Authority master plan at 675 East Santa Clara Street in San Jose. The application aims to secure a streamlined approval path using Senate Bill 35 for the over two hundred homes close to Downtown San Jose. Core Companies and Eden Housing are joint developers responsible for the project.
A multi-family residential project proposed for development at 1279 East Julian Street in San Jose is now under review. The project proposal includes the construction of a new seven-story building featuring spaces for apartments, office use, community gatherings, and on-site parking. The project calls for the demolition of two existing single-family residences and an accessory structure on the site. Hestia Real Estate, LLC is the project applicant. Yi First Seed LLC is the property owner.
New preliminary plans have been submitted for an eight-story affordable housing complex at 1190 Hillsdale Avenue in San Jose, Santa Clara County. The property is close to another rising senior housing complex and close to the developing Communication Hills. A.C. Martin, a Los Angeles-based architecture firm, is the project applicant.
The Builder’s Remedy was expected to boost housing construction across the state. However, it’s causing San Jose’s pipeline to shrink. The Bumb Family has withdrawn their 2021-proposed plan for the South District development, swapping the proposed offices and 3,450 units with a 940-unit alternative, representing a loss of 2,560 units. Since San Jose did not submit a compliant housing element, there is little for the city to do.
