A preliminary application has been submitted to the City Planning Commission of San Jose, seeking the approval of a large industrial complex proposed at 2222 Qume Drive in North San Jose. The project proposal includes the development of an industrial park slated to operate 24/7. Plans call for the demolition of three existing buildings on the site. Bridge Development Partners is the project developer. Herdman Architecture + Design is responsible for the design concepts and construction.

New construction permits have been filed for a multi-family residential development at 123 West Reed Street in Downtown San Jose. The project will rise just two floors from the currently vacant lot to add three units to the city’s housing market. Visionaire Homes LLC is responsible for the development.

The San Jose Planning Commission is scheduled to decide on an appeal later today of The Mark, a 23-story student-oriented project to be built at 475 South 4th Street in Downtown San Jose. The public teleconference meeting is scheduled to begin today, October 13th, at 6:30 PM. City staff has recommended the commission reject the appeal and approve the special use permits to commence construction. A preliminary application has been filed to construct a new apartment complex at 950 West Julian Street, Garden Alameda, San Jose. The project would bring 300 new units within walking distance of the San Jose Diridon train station, retail, and close to Downtown San Jose. Jemcor Development Partners is responsible for the application.

Detailed renderings have been published for the three-tower apartment proposal at 420 South 2nd Street and 420 South 3rd Street in Downtown San Jose. Later tonight, the project will be reviewed by the San Jose Historic Landmarks Commission, which is expected to recommend approval for the demolition of the existing structures. Urban Community and Terrascape Ventures are in a joint venture for the development.

Developers have filed the project plans for 802 South 1st Street, the six-story residential development in Martha Gardens, San Jose. As proposed, the development could add 246 new residential units to the city’s housing market, a short bus ride away from Downtown San Jose. Maracor Development is sponsoring the development.

A recent site visit by SFYIMBY shows that construction work is almost finished for One Santana West, a new office building in West San Jose. The project will provide a new hub with a capacity for over a thousand employees in a burgeoning mixed-use district. Federal Realty Investment Trust is responsible for the development of Santana West, as well as the busy mixed-use Santana Row plan across the street.

Revised Permits Filed for 27 South 1st Street, Downtown San Jose

New permits have been filed as developers plan groundbreaking next year for the 24-story mixed-use tower proposed for 27 South 1st Street in Downtown San Jose. Alterra Worldwide, the project developer, has stated they will use blockchain to raise funds. If built, Tower 27 will add 374 apartments, parking, and retail to the city’s urban core.

Construction crews have quickly installed the curtainwall glass covering Adobe’s new office tower at 333 West San Fernando Street in Downtown San Jose. Dubbed Adobe North Tower, the project is the fourth skyscraper for the Adobe Global Headquarters. The software company has been operating from San Jose since 1996, with the construction of Adobe Tower West and the subsequent completion of Adobe Tower East in 1998 and Adobe Almaden Tower in 2003.

Construction nears Halfway for 200 Park Avenue, Downtown San Jose

Construction has progressed quickly for Downtown San Jose’s newest high-rise office tower at 200 Park Avenue. Over the last two months, Level 10 Construction crews have brought the building from the street level to near the halfway point, with steel extending as many as ten floors above the street. Jay Paul Company is responsible for the development.
