A 42-story residential tower planned for 95 Hawthorne Street has made another step towards its realization. Permits have been filed for the new building in SoMA, San Francisco, starting the process for construction to begin. A total of 412 dwelling units are planned for the building, a twenty-unit increase since its approval in the second half of 2019. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill will be responsible for the design.
A large 57-unit multi-family project is under construction at 2755 El Camino Real in Palo Alto. This proposed structure rises fifty feet up, or four floors over a busy intersection between El Camino Real and Page Mill Road, in an area already dotted with four-story multi-family projects. Windy Hill Property Ventures is sponsoring the development.
Permits have been filed for a residential expansion at 3747 17th Street in the Castro, San Francisco. The current structure will undergo a large addition, increasing its density and land use. A third floor will be added to the top to hold one of two added residential units. Once complete, the former single-family residence will contain three family-size apartments.
Renderings have been released, showing the futuristic design planned for the Career Education Complex at San Jose City College, San Jose. These new designs come from Steinberg Hart, an international architecture firm with roots in San Jose extending back to the 1950s. Once complete, it will offer facilities for career education courses and a welcoming environment for the rest of the campus. The spaceship-like complex is expected to cost $112 million for completion.
Plans for a multi-family development at 2214 Cayuga Avenue in the Outer Mission, San Francisco, are heading before the city planning commission later this week. The site is on an oddly shaped lot situated between Cayuga Avenue, Sickles Avenue, and Alemany Boulevard. The site is near the Daly City BART Station, providing easy transit access to locations throughout the region.
