Last week the new affordable development at 400 China Basin Street held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its completion. Construction has started for the eight-story multiunit complex in 2023, but delays pushed its opening date back from initial projections.
Preliminary permits have been filed to replace the Harbor Bay Landing shopping center with over three hundred units at 867 Island Drive in Alameda, Alameda County. The project will remove the only shopping center in the city’s neighborhood on Bay Farm Island. The True Life Companies is the project applicant and developer.
The plans for a church to residential conversion were recently approved by the City of Oakland, taking a major step forward in a long-awaited affordable housing project. The 1433 12th Avenue site is already home to the 1887-built Brooklyn Presbyterian Church and Parish Hall, which is to be converted and incorporated into the project. Brooklyn Arms Apartments is listed as the project owner, with Strive Wealth Builders acting as a project sponsor.
The Mountain View City Council has approved plans for a seven-story apartment complex at 296 Tyrella Avenue in Mountain View, Santa Clara County. The plans look to replace a single-family home with eighty apartments. Tower Investment LLC is listed as the project applicant.
State financing has been secured to support the 15-story affordable housing proposal at 772 Pacific Avenue in San Francisco’s Chinatown. The development has been awarded $33.5 million from the California Department of Housing and Community Development, allowing the team to continue working towards breaking ground as early as 2027. The Chinatown Community Development Center is responsible for the project.
