Construction officially started yesterday morning on the first apartment complex in the ambitious Potrero Power Station masterplan on San Francisco’s formerly industrial waterfront. The first structure to rise will be an affordable workforce housing complex named the Sophie Maxwell Building, with expectations of over seven hundred units to rise with it during the first phase of development. Associate Capital is the project developer.
Construction has officially started on 39 affordable homes with a groundbreaking ceremony at 1367 University Avenue in Berkeley, Alameda County. The project will create housing for formerly homeless individuals, giving access to amenities, on-site services, and close access to the North Berkeley BART Station. San Francisco-based Panoramic Interests is the developer while Building Opportunities for Self Sufficiency will manage the property and leasing.
The City’s Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing and the Episcopal Community Services have submitted a request to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for a $47.38 million permanent loan related to the conversion of Hotel Diva at 440 Geary Street into permanent supportive housing. The financing will pay off the construction loan from the San Francisco Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF). Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH) with co-applicant Episcopal Community Services (ECS) as owner and service provider.
New renderings have been published alongside a notice for public input regarding the two-building infill at 1354 and 1356 York Street on the southern edge of San Francisco’s Mission District neighborhood. The plan will replace an industrial structure with six homes. Atlas Property Group is the project developer.
New plans have been submitted for the City of San Francisco to acquire three structures at 601, 617, and 624 Laguna Street in Hayes Valley, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a new Dual Diagnosis care facility on the top floors and the ground level conversion into transitional housing for at-risk youths. Pacific SFO LLC is the property owner.
