A new affordable housing project has been proposed for the development at 2530 18th Street in Mission District, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the development of a new affordable housing development offering 73 units. The project site is currently owned by 2530 18th, LLC, an affiliate of Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP). HPP is working with the developer Mercy Housing. Mithun is the project architect.
Preliminary permits have been submitted for a five-story affordable housing complex at 3073 International Boulevard in Fruitvale, Oakland. The proposal would replace an empty lot and two structures, including the Ghost Ship Warehouse, the site of a horrific fatal fire in 2016. Local developer Unity Council hopes to bring new low-income housing to the corner lot.
The environmental review process has concluded for the potential redevelopment of the California College of the Arts campus in Rockridge, Oakland. Construction has started for two affordable housing complexes rising on Transbay Block 2 in East Cut, San Francisco. While site work has been active since the start of this year, its official groundbreaking ceremony was held late last month. Once complete, the block will add 335 new apartments in the high-rise neighborhood by Rincon Hill.
