YIMBY Visits Mission Rock, San Francisco

Alongside the Tuesday ribbon cutting atop Verde, my recent site visit to Mission Rock gave me an opportunity to document the completion of phase one of the ambitious master plan along the San Francisco waterfront. Construction has replaced about half of the 28-acre surface parking lot with over five hundred homes, more than half a million square feet of commercial real estate, new internal streets, shops, and a public park across from Oracle Park. The project has been a joint venture with Tishman Speyer and the San Francisco Giants.

Facade Installation Tops Out for Three Towers at Mission Rock, San Francisco

Facade installation is nearly done for the three new towers in Mission Rock, San Francisco. Both the new Visa Headquarters and The Canyon are completely wrapped, with work on Building B almost finished. Meanwhile, Site work is continuing for Studio Gang’s glazed-green tower, the fourth and final tower to rise during Phase One, with the project crane already in place. The joint venture dubbed Mission Rock Partners expects to welcome its first tenants and residents next year.

Mission Rock From San Francisco Giants’ Oracle Park in Mission Bay

Construction is moving quickly for Mission Rock, the mixed-use waterfront development with offices, housing, and public open space in Mission Bay. Crews have started with the first four of eleven new structures to replace 28 acres of surface parking once used for the San Francisco Giants Oracle Park visitors. Now, Buildings A and G are a dramatic backdrop looking over the stadium, and YIMBY is there to photograph it.

Google’s East Charleston Offices Nearly Complete

Construction work is finishing up on Google’s Charleston East, a canopy-covered bespoke office building designed by two international architecture firms, Bjarke Ingels Group and Heatherwick Studios. The 111-foot tall project is located at 2000 North Shoreline Boulevard, by the Mountain View waterfront and across from the Shoreline Amphitheatre and the Googleplex. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is the project owner.

Excavation Underway for Potrero Power Station along San Francisco’s Dogpatch Waterfront

A recent site visit has shown notable progress on demolition and excavation for the 2,600-home Potrero Power Station development nine months after groundbreaking. Crews have removed several structures while retaining the historic Station A and 300-foot smokestack, both brick structures will serve as focal points in the 29-acre waterfront development in Dogpatch, San Francisco. Associate Capital is responsible for the project.
