Senior Housing At 37660 Timber Street In Newark Receives Funding

A new residential project has been proposed for development at 37660 Timber Street in Newark. The project proposal includes the construction of a senior housing community offering 79 residential units for seniors. The project has been granted $21.7 million in funding for its construction. Eden Housing is the project developer. Van Meter Williams Pollack is responsible for the designs. Financial partners include City of Newark and County of Alameda (Measure A1 Affordable Housing Fund).

Construction work has started for La Avenida Apartment Community, a new affordable housing project at 1100 La Avenida Avenue in Mountain View, Santa Clara County. Once complete, Eden Housing will be providing 100 new units of affordable rental units across from the Microsoft Silicon Valley campus. Completion is expected next year.

Public Comment Starts for Affordable Housing in San Quentin, Marin County

The Draft Environmental Impact Report is under review that would increase the housing stock of the unincorporated community of San Quentin fivefold. Education Housing Partners and Eden Housing have proposed Oak Hill Apartments, an entirely affordable complex with 250 new apartments across two structures on the hilly 8.3-acre property. The proposal, located around 101 Sir Francis Drive Boulevard, is the largest affordable project in Marin County in roughly 50 years.

Development plans are moving forward for Sequoia Station, a six-structure mixed-use proposal to reshape the downtown of San Mateo County’s third-largest city. The Los Angeles-based private real estate company, Lowe, has spent $73 million acquiring the second half of the block around 1057 El Camino Real in Redwood City. The firm looks to construct three million square feet of housing and offices, parking, and public open space.
