The project developer, TNDC, started work in 2022 but was stalled after a neighboring property owner complained about construction compromising their structure’s foundation.
Community members gathered last week to celebrate the official groundbreaking ceremony of Colibri Commons, a new affordable housing complex rising at 965 Weeks Street in East Palo Alto, San Mateo County. The project is a joint development by EPACANDO and MidPen Housing to create 136 homes on city-owned land. Residents are expected to move in as early as next year.
Preliminary plans have been filed for a seven-story apartment complex to rise at 762 San Antonio Road in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The application invokes the Builder’s Remedy to expedite approval and increase the capacity to nearly two hundred units. Hengehold Trucks is the property owner, and Acclaim Companies is the developer.
Just over a year after the official groundbreaking ceremony, crews have topped out the five-story affordable educator housing development at 1360 43rd Avenue in San Francisco’s Sunset District. The Shirley Chisholm Village has replaced a former school and outdoor yard with the low-rise apartment infill designed by BAR Architects with G7A. MidPen Housing is the project developer, and Cahill is the general contractor.
Acclaim Companies has filed an alternative application for what is now a builder’s remedy-assisted plan to develop 3150 El Camino Real in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The seven-story project, initially filed this June, aims to build 380 new homes on the 2.55-acre site. Communications with the city’s planning department show the developer is filing the second application in response to the department’s signal of disapproval for the increased housing.
