Demolition permits have been filed to clear the way for a mixed-use project at 2176 Kittredge Street in downtown Berkeley. The proposal would add 165 new apartments to the college town’s housing market. East Beach Capital is responsible for the application.
Permits have been submitted seeking the approval of hotel development at 1851 McCarthy Boulevard in Milpitas. The project proposal includes the construction of a business hotel with onsite parking. Plans also call for the demolition of an existing office building measuring 48,500 square feet. Luxury Estates & Development is the property owner. Axis/GFA Architecture + Design is managing the design concepts and construction. Jett Landscape + Design is the landscape architect.
New planning permits are under review for a four-story senior living project at 3315 Almaden Expressway in South San Jose. The project will provide new residential space in a relatively retail-rich corner of several car-oriented neighborhoods. The project is planned to be immediately adjacent to the Almaden Expressway, which merges with Route 87 to cut through Downtown San Jose. Columbia Pacific Advisors is listed as the project sponsor.
New development permits have been filed for a five-story residential building at 469 40th Street in Mosswood, Oakland. The medium-density residential in-fill will add a collection of residences in a transit-rich neighborhood with buses and BART within two blocks. Flynn Architecture is responsible for the design.
Construction crews are making project on a multi-family residential building at 2556 Telegraph Avenue, at the border of South Berkeley and Southside. Named The Laureate, the building will rise five stories, adding little to the city skyline. Realtex Group is credited as the property owner, with Bright Street operating as the project manager.
