Napa City Council is scheduled to review plans tomorrow night for the mixed-use redevelopment of the former United States Post Office in the county seat of Napa County. The proposal would adaptively reuse the historic Franklin Station Post Office building for hotel and restaurant use after the structure was vacated following the 2014 South Napa earthquake. Domain Hospitality is the property owner.
Demolition work is currently underway ahead of plans for an eight-story parking garage with retail at 185 Park Avenue in Downtown San Jose, Santa Clara County. The project is the first phase underway for the recently reimagined CityView Plaza masterplan, with the amended plans to be heard by the city’s Planning Director later this week. The prominent local developer, Jay Paul Company, is responsible for the venture.
Plans will be streamlined for the recently filed two-skyscraper development at 88 Bluxome Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The first application was submitted three months ago, with city staff now determining the project can proceed with Assembly Bill 2011, which allows for by-right approval for eligible housing on commercially-zoned lands. Strada Investment Group is the sponsor and developer.
Construction has topped out for phase one of the YouTube headquarters redevelopment in San Bruno, San Mateo County. Crews have brought together the steel and mass-timber frame that form two three-story office buildings designed by the New York-based SHoP Architects. San Francisco-based Ellis Partners is the development manager.
Santa Clara’s newest towers are also its tallest. Construction has topped out for 2300 Calle De Luna, an apartment complex with two towers rising from the eight-story podium and surrounded by landscaping in the Tasman East Specific Plan. Completion of the seven hundred units, shops, and landscaped public parkland is expected as early as next year. Related Companies is the project developer.
