Garland Hotel Celebrates Opening At 505 O’Farrell Street, Tenderloin, San Francisco

Earlier this month, Mayor London Breed announced the opening of the Garland Hotel at 505 O’Farrell Street in Tenderloin, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the development of permanent supportive housing units. The project is a part of Mayor Breed’s Homelessness Recovery Plan, announced in July 2020, which includes the largest one-time expansion of PSH in 20 years.

GLIDE Foundation Proposal Modernization Project, Tenderloin, San Francisco

The GLIDE Foundation has submitted the preliminary project application for modernized facilities and a new ten-story office tower at 334 Ellis Street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. The $200 million plans would expand institutional capacity, improve its accessibility for community services, and modernize the existing Glide Memorial Church building systems. EHDD Architecture will be responsible for the design.

Cars-to-Casas Application Filed for 530 Turk Street, Tenderloin, San Francisco

The preliminary project assessment application has been filed for an eleven-story residential infill at 530 Turk Street, located in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. The application expects to benefit from the state density bonus and Cars-to-Casas ordinance, both programs to increase the amount of affordable housing. The property is currently used as a parking lot.
