The six-story development is expected to create over two hundred apartments, of which many will be priced as affordable. Riaz Capital is responsible for the application.

The Oakland Design Review Committee will be presented with a residential and office concept for the property tomorrow. The applications are led by San Francisco-based Tidewater Capital and the Los Angeles-based Large Architecture.

The application reveals the price tag for the three-story block-wide warehouse. The construction cost is estimated to be $125 million, while the total development costs could be much larger.

The property spans from Broadway to Manila Avenue, including the existing Masonic Temple office building to remain. The parking garage will let off to Manila, creating 219 parking spaces for office employees. Meridian is responsible for the project as the real estate developer.
