Affordable Housing Inaugurated at 180 Jones Street, Tenderloin, San Francisco

A new 100% affordable housing project is now available for occupancy at 180 Jones Street in Tenderloin, San Francisco. The project proposal included the development of a new nine-story affordable housing complex. The City and Mayor London Breed celebrated the inauguration, and were joined by representatives from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). Cahill Contractors is the contractor. Van Meter Williams Pollack LLP is responsible for the designs. TNDC is providing in-house property management and social services. Local firms Waypoint Consulting, California Housing Partnership, and Gubb & Barshay  are also enlisted on the project.

Recent permit activity has surfaced for the eight-story affordable housing project at 850 Turk Street in San Francisco’s Fillmore District. The filing indicates progress from the development team ahead of expected construction to start next year. MidPen Housing and Tishman Speyer were selected to be co-developers of the state-owned property made available through the California Surplus Land Act.

New building permits have been requested for the affordable educator housing project at 750 Golden Gate Avenue in the Fillmore District, San Francisco. Once issued, construction can start replacing formerly state-owned surface parking lots with an eight-story infill. MidPen Housing is the lead developer, working with consulting developer Tishman Speyer.
