Joint Groundbreaking Ceremony for Affordable Housing at 750 Golden Gate Avenue and 850 Turk Street, San Francisco

The official groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday morning by MidPen Housing to celebrate the construction of 167 units of affordable housing at 750 Golden Gate Avenue and 850 Turk Street in San Francisco’s Fillmore District. The ceremony was held at 750 Golden Gate Avenue, where the first floor of concrete is already complete. One block away, demolition work is nearly complete at 850 Turk Street.

Demolition Permits Filed For Affordable Housing in Fillmore District, San Francisco

Demolition permits have been filed for the existing parking garage at 850 Turk Street in San Francisco’s Fillmore District. The application follows the late-October new building permits being issued for the eight-story affordable apartment complex with nearly a hundred units. MidPen Housing and Tishman Speyer were selected to be co-developers of the state-owned property made available through the California Surplus Land Act.

Affordable Housing Inaugurated at 180 Jones Street, Tenderloin, San Francisco

A new 100% affordable housing project is now available for occupancy at 180 Jones Street in Tenderloin, San Francisco. The project proposal included the development of a new nine-story affordable housing complex. The City and Mayor London Breed celebrated the inauguration, and were joined by representatives from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). Cahill Contractors is the contractor. Van Meter Williams Pollack LLP is responsible for the designs. TNDC is providing in-house property management and social services. Local firms Waypoint Consulting, California Housing Partnership, and Gubb & Barshay  are also enlisted on the project.
