New Building Permits Filed for Mission District Affordable Housing, San Francisco

New building permits have been filed for the nine-story affordable housing plan at 1515 South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District. The 168-unit infill has been designated a priority by the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development to streamline approval. Chinatown Community Development Center and the Mission Economic Development Agency are jointly responsible for the project.

Tiny Homes Village Proposed for 1979 Mission Street in Mission District, San Francisco

A new proposal for a tiny home village has been filed for 1979 Mission Street in the Mission District of San Francisco. The plans would install as many as 70 prefabricated units and related amenities on the 1.32-acre property. The city’s Department of Homelessness & Supportive Housing is responsible for the application. Reached for comment, city staff shared with YIMBY, “The proposal does not include demolition of the existing buildings.”

Construction Soon for 4200 Geary Boulevard in Richmond District, San Francisco

Construction is expected to start this April for the seven-story affordable senior housing proposal at 4200 Geary Boulevard in the Richmond District of San Francisco. The update has been announced by the project developer, the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation. Once complete, the project will offer 98 new homes for residents earning between 15-50% of the Area Median Income.

Groundbreaking for Community and Recreation Center for Sunnydale HOPE SF

The official groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday morning for the Sunnydale Community Center in Visitacion Valley, San Francisco. The project, dubbed the Sunnydale Hub, will create a Wu Yee child care center, the Herz recreation center, and a new clubhouse for the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco. The project is part of the Sunnydale HOPE SF master plan by Mercy Housing and Related Companies.
