More State Funds for Sacramento Valley Station Redevelopment

More funds have been secured for the Sacramento Valley Station redevelopment plan, a vision to shape the city’s historic transit hub and seventh busiest Amtrak station in the country into a dense pedestrian-oriented destination. The State awarded $42 million to the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority to fund the new bus depot, part of the early phasing for construction.

Foundation Underway at 1699 Old Bayshore Highway in Burlingame

Demolition and foundation work has started for the three-structure life sciences project at 1699-1701 Old Bayshore Highway in Burlingame, San Mateo County. During a site visit late last week, YIMBY captured the active construction project with concrete mixing trucks coming and going. Once complete, the development will be the first new life science project along the city’s waterfront just south of SFO. Helios Real Estate Partners and King Street Properties are collaborating with the project as joint developers.

Meeting Today for Gilman Gateway in Northwest Berkeley, Alameda County

The Berkeley Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans today for the potential development of a collection of properties spanning 8.2-acre property in Northwest Berkeley, Alameda County. The preliminary plans suggest the construction of nearly a million square feet serving the region’s growing appetite for life sciences. Perkins&Will is responsible for the masterplan design.
