Samuel Merritt University has secured a $139 million bond for constructing their proposed ten-story central campus at 525 12th Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. Along with the bond, SMU is investing $120 million. The over quarter billion dollar investment keeps SMU on schedule for groundbreaking later this year, having received approval in November. Strada is the project developer.
Renderings have been revealed for a four-story laboratory at 1717 Mission Street in the Mission District of San Francisco. The plans would replace the property formerly owned by the corrupt permit expeditor Walter Wong, involved with the City Hall corruption scandal centered around Mohammed Nuru. Wong sold the property earlier this year to the developer Align Real Estate.
New building permits have been filed for the 12-story office proposal at 490 Brannan Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The filing comes several months after the property was purchased by Trammell Crow from Strada Investment Group.
Construction has topped out for the 14-story UC Law San Francisco development at 198 McAllister Street in San Francisco’s Civic Center neighborhood. The project represents phase two of the Academic Village redevelopment of the city block. The project is a joint venture with the UCSF College of the Law San Francisco and Greystar. Once complete, it will provide dorms, classrooms, and a variety of facilities by the summer of 2023.
Construction work has started for the eight-story life sciences project at 580 Dubuque Avenue in South San Francisco, San Mateo County. The project has replaced a long-time vacant lot. IQHQ, a Real Estate Investment Trust, is sponsoring the project via South City Ventures, LLC.
