The publication of the Draft EIR starts a 45-day period for public input to influence the Final EIR. Orchard Residential is part of the Westbank Campus, a joint venture with the Canadian developer Westbank and Urban Community.
Caltrain has published new renderings for a proposed two-tower office project across from Diridon Station. The north and south towers will rise with over a million square feet of office space between a new pedestrian plaza, establishing the project as a gateway to Downtown West and San Jose. Caltrain is the property owner.
Construction is expected to start next year for Orchard Workspace, a 20-story office proposal at 300 South 1st Street in Downtown San Jose. Core Companies has now purchased the necessary property for Gateway Tower, a proposed 24-story residential tower at 470 South Market Street in Downtown San Jose. The project would create 300 affordable units, with funding coming from Santa Clara County. DLR Group is the project architect.
