New renderings have been revealed for a 25-story mixed-use tower for 439 South 4th Street in Downtown San Jose. The proposal, led by Caruso Design for the current property owner, would create 210 new residential units above five levels of parking. If built, the new project would be adjacent to The Mark at 475 South 4th Street, a similarly stocky tower for student housing being developed by Urban Catalyst.
Demolition permits have been submitted to the city for the existing building at 180 Park Avenue in Downtown San Jose. The application hopes to clear the low-rise convention hall for Park Habitat, a 20-story office building proposed by the international Westbank and local firm Urban Community. The proposed office tower will create an innovative new addition to the skyline, with its distinctive design by Kengo Kuma & Associates, a Japan-based firm.
Satellite Affordable Housing Associates have submitted an enhanced preliminary permit for new affordable senior housing at 501 Almaden Avenue in Downtown San Jose. The application comes as Branagh Construction is two floors from topping out Arya at 500 Almaden Boulevard, an adjacent eight-story property developed by SAHA.
The City of San Jose has approved plans for a 30-story residential tower to rise at 605 South Second Street in Downtown San Jose. With a rooftop height of 285 feet, the building will be among the tallest in a city whose height limit is heavily regulated by the FAA. Roygbiv Real Estate, a low-profile firm with high ambitions, is responsible for the project.
