Less than one year after acquiring the waterfront property, Landsea Homes has broken ground on the townhomes component of Alameda Marina, a master-planned community with affordable housing in Alameda, across the water from Oakland and in view of Brooklyn Basin. The development, designed by KTGY, will create 182 townhomes, with sales starting later this year.
The new pre-application permit has been filed, indicating development progress for the proposed apartment complex at 111 Independence Drive in Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The proposal will rise eight floors, adding 105 new homes, of which over a dozen will be affordable. SP Menlo LLC, run by Menlo Park resident Sateez Kadivar, is the project developer.
Several demolition permits have been filed to clear the way for 400 Divisadero Street, a residential infill at the corner of Oak Street in San Francisco’s Lower Haight neighborhood. The long-planned development is aiming to replace two car-oriented structures and low-density buildings with 186 new homes. Genesis CA Development is listed as the project developer.
Tidewater Capital has filed new plans for an eight-story apartment complex for 533 Kirkham Street in West Oakland. The proposal aims to replace surface parking with 289 new units, adding new homes one block from BART’s West Oakland Station. The plans are joined by several other major plans that hope to establish a new transit-oriented high-density hub.
Development plans are moving forward for Sequoia Station, a six-structure mixed-use proposal to reshape the downtown of San Mateo County’s third-largest city. The Los Angeles-based private real estate company, Lowe, has spent $73 million acquiring the second half of the block around 1057 El Camino Real in Redwood City. The firm looks to construct three million square feet of housing and offices, parking, and public open space.
