Plans have been approved for La Maravilla, a nine-story permanent supportive housing complex at 1979 Mission Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. Construction is now set to start early next year on the first of three phases on the large parcel overlooking the 16th Street BART Station. Mission Economic Development Agency and Mission Housing Development Corporation are jointly responsible for the project.
New housing has been proposed for 3070 Brook Street in the Broadway Valdez neighborhood of Oakland. The project is looking to add four modular accessory dwelling units to a vacant lot. San Francisco-based PermitFlow is listed as the project applicant.
Palo Alto’s Architectural Review Board is scheduled to review plans this morning for a townhouse development at 2100-2400 Geng Road near the Baylands Nature Preserve, Palo Alto. The project is expected to replace an 11-acre office campus with 145 apartments. San Francisco-based Strada Investment Group is responsible for the project.
The Shirley Chisholm Village in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week, celebrating the completion of a first-of-its-kind project for San Francisco. The 100% affordable units are designated as a community for educators working in San Francisco, with the goal of making housing more accessible within the city limits.
More documents, including a design review and notice of exemption, have been filed with CEQA on behalf of a project located at 2433 Mariner Square Drive in Alameda. Previously reported on by SF YIMBY in 2024, the project is being brought by The Martin Group with plans to transform the West Alameda parcel. The current commercial area would be replaced by high-rise residential with views of downtown Oakland, the Port of Oakland, and across the San Francisco Bay.
