Updated renderings have been revealed with detailed plans for the Monarch Bay Shoreline Development project, poised to reshape 75 acres of the San Leandro waterfront. The plans would reshape a swath of surface parking and a portion of an existing golf course into 491 residential units, a 210-room hotel, and shops between Marina Park and the Oakland International Airport in Alameda County. The project is a public-private partnership with the City of San Leandro and Cal Coast Companies.

The approved project proposes the development of a six-story hotel after multiple environmental reviews and meetings as reported in a previous version. Dr. Adam Askari, a local dentist, is the property owner. is responsible for the design concepts. Cord Associates is listed as the project applicant. Carpira Design Group is the architecture firm responsible for design concepts and construction.
Renderings have been published alongside a new planning application for a five-story Element brand hotel at 2200 Stockton Boulevard in Med Center, Sacramento. The project will create a 151-key hotel managed by Marriott across from the UC Davis Medical Health Center, as well as expansion plans for Aggie Square. Leeland Properties is the project client.

The project proposal includes the development of an 85-foot tall hotel with guest amenities, a rooftop restaurant, and onsite parking. The project seeks a use permit, design review approval, an amendment to the Airport Industrial Area Specific Plan, and a development agreement. Landmark Hotels LLC is the project applicant.
