The Oakland Planning Commission is scheduled to vote on a second extension request for approved entitlements to a six-story hotel at Parcel F3 along the Jack London Square waterfront. The project was first approved in March of 2018, and the entitlement received an extension in 2019 that was increased during the pandemic following the city’s Emergency Order Number 6. CIM Group is the project developer.
A mew hotel project has been proposed for development at 1669 Monterey Road in San Jose. The project proposal includes the construction of a five-story hotel offering guestrooms, onsite parking, outdoor dining and other amenities. The project calls for the demolition of five commercial structures totaling 20,500 square feet, removal of eight ordinance-size and three non-ordinance-size trees. Casa Linda Motel LLC is the property owner and project applicant.
Hawkins Way Capital has announced the official opening of their dual-brand hotel at 1431 Jefferson Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The 18-story building will split its 276 hotels between the AC Hotel and Residence Inn brands, both owned by Marriott.
Commercial new building permits have been filed for a new five-story Hyatt hotel at 629 Richards Boulevard in the riverside masterplan of Township 9 in Sacramento. The plan will develop the vacant parcel with a 201-room by a light rail station under Hyatt’s brand, ‘Caption By Hyatt.’ Presidio Companies and 29th Street Capital are the project’s development team.
The Gateway at Millbrae Station mixed-use development is officially open in Millbrae, San Mateo County. The project has brought affordable housing, market-rate housing, offices, a hotel, and new retail directly across from the county’s largest transit hub, serviced by BART, Caltrain, SamTrans, and eventually, the High-Speed Rail. Republic Urban Properties is the project sponsor.
