Pre-Application Permits Filed for citizenM Hotel at 3 Facebook Way, Menlo Park

Pre-application permits have been filed for a 240-room citizenM Hotel at 300 Constitution Drive, or 3 Facebook Way, in Menlo Park, San Mateo County. The five-story development will replace surface parking at the intersection of Chilco Street and Bayfront Expressway in an area dominated by Facebook offices. The proposed hotel has already received city council conditional approval in early 2020. The Netherlands-based citizenM Hotel chain is responsible for the development as the project owner.

Number 32: Hilton at 333 O’Farrell Street, Tenderloin, San Francisco

The 32nd tallest building in the Bay Area planned or built is 333 O’Farrell Street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood by Union Square. The structure rises 493 feet tall to be the tallest structure exclusively for hotel use in the Bay, and was the second of three structures in the full-block Hilton San Francisco complex. 333 O’Farrell opened in 1971 with design by John Carl Warnecke & Associates.

Google’s Downtown West Plan Heads to Final Vote from San Jose City Council

San Jose City Council is poised to give final approval to construct the 80-acre Downtown West urban development by Google. The proposal would reshape a significant portion of the Diridon Station Area Plan in Downtown San Jose by replacing surface parking and low-density blocks around the SAP Center with a higher density of housing, offices, and retail. Developers Filed Preliminary Project Assessment for Freedom West, San Francisco

Developers have completed and submitted the preliminary project assessment letter, or PPA, for the $2 billion Freedom West project around 710 McAllister Street in San Francisco’s Filmore District. In the letter, San Francisco’s Planning Department staff expressed support for Freedom West to build 2,305 new apartments with affordable housing across four city blocks. PPA is the initial process that evaluates moderate to large proposals before development applications are filed.
