Renderings Revealed for Treehouse Proposal at 1100 North Mathilda Avenue, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County

New renderings have been revealed alongside a reduction in size for hotel rooms in the Treehouse at 1100 North Mathilda Avenue in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. The special development permit request will reduce the 358 guest rooms to 254. The development will refurbish around half a dozen existing structures and build a new six-story hotel, courtyard pool, greenhouse, and community room. Starwood Capital Group is responsible for the application, while Sheraton Hotel is the property owner.

Final Steel Beam Installed On Top 415 Natoma street, plus New Renderings of 5M, SoMa, San Francisco

Brookfield Properties has officially marked the ceremonial topping out of 415 Natoma Street, the largest office building to do so in San Francisco this year. The 395-foot structure is the largest of six planned buildings in the mixed-use 5M Development in SoMa. Three buildings will be newly constructed, while the other three are adaptively reused historic renovations. Once complete, 5M will create 856 new homes, of which 245 will be affordable, 853,000 square feet of Class A office space, 49,000 square feet of new public open space, and an array of retail spots. Brookfield is developing the project in partnership with Hearst.

Development plans are currently under review for a modern mixed-use skyscraper at 45-53 Third Street in SoMa, San Francisco. Recently uncovered renderings show in greater detail than previously reported the sculptural design by SOM. Overlooking the Yerba Buena gardens, the project will provide affordable and market-rate housing, luxury hotel space, offices, retail, public area, and an art market, all in one 600-foot structure. The development is being co-sponsored by the Hearst family and JMA Ventures.

The Marriott Marquis at 55 Fourth Street in SoMa is the 47th tallest tower in SFYIMBY’s Countdown of the 52 tallest buildings planned or built in the Bay Area. This asymmetrical tower stands as the most prominent postmodernist skyscraper in the city and an enduring icon in the skyline. The hotel was completed in 1989 with a rooftop height of 436 feet.

The development includes three main buildings surrounded by 48 new single-family houses and 25 three-story townhouses. Development permits were submitted seeking approval to construct two new six-story hotel buildings on 247-295 Commercial Street, Sunnyvale, Silicon Valley. The project proposal includes erecting two hotel buildings totaling 274 hotel rooms, an underground parking garage. Site improvements are also a part of the proposed commercial development.

The project proposed to add four buildings, three of which contain 637 apartments, of which 230 will be affordable. Construction Halfway to Peak for Marriott at 1431 Jefferson Street, Downtown Oakland

A new Marriott-owned hotel is quickly rising at 1431 Jefferson Street, just two blocks from Frank H. Ogawa Plaza in Downtown Oakland. The concrete structure has reached the half-way point in its march to the 18th floor. Once complete, it’ll open up 276 hotel rooms, of which roughly half will be managed by a Marriott Residence Inn and the other half by the Marriott-owned AC Hotel. Hawkins Way Capital is responsible for the development after fully purchasing the property in 2019 for $30 million.

Planning Continues for 744 Harrison Street, SoMa, San Francisco

Recent activity shows that development persists for an eight-story mixed-use infill at 744 Harrison Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The project will bring a mix of hotel and residential use on top of a ground-level restaurant. However, this persistence comes in the form of a permit approval extension. The development was originally approved in 2018. An application to extend construction entitlements for an additional three years was approved Wednesday. Leon Lee & Associates are responsible for the development as the property owner.
