Groundbreaking for Community and Recreation Center for Sunnydale HOPE SF

The official groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday morning for the Sunnydale Community Center in Visitacion Valley, San Francisco. The project, dubbed the Sunnydale Hub, will create a Wu Yee child care center, the Herz recreation center, and a new clubhouse for the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco. The project is part of the Sunnydale HOPE SF master plan by Mercy Housing and Related Companies.

Largest Affordable Housing Project in Berkeley Opens at 2012 Berkeley Way

The largest affordable housing project in Berkeley opened its doors last week with an official ceremony for the Berkeley Way Apartments at 2012 Berkeley Way. The event launched the opening of low-income and permanent supportive units and the Hope Center, which now provides supportive services for residents and the community in the downtown urban center, with BART and AC Transit both nearby. The project is a joint venture with BRIDGE Housing and BFHP.

Construction Starts for Affordable Condos at Mission Bay Block 9A, San Francisco

While facade installation is finishing up for Mission Bay Block 9, construction has officially started for the fully-affordable condominiums at Block 9A in Mission Bay, San Francisco. Both projects will bring new affordable housing to the city. Block 9 is dedicated to formerly homeless individuals, and Block 9A will sell 148 affordable condominiums opening by 2024.

Renderings have been revealed for an eight-story residential infill for 160 Freelon Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The project, also addressed as 639 Bryant Street, would replace a vacant building and surface parking with 85 units of affordable housing. Related Companies is the project developer collaborating with the City and County of San Francisco. Groundbreaking is expected in 2024.
