Construction has started for the Chinatown TOD Senior Housing complex within the Lake Merritt BART Station redevelopment in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The project is expected to be the first of four buildings to activate two BART-owned blocks with a mix of residential and commercial real estate. East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation is responsible for the development.
The City of El Cerrito and project developer Related California have been awarded $39.1 million in state funding for the El Cerrito Plaza Transit-Oriented Development in Contra Costa County. The financing will allow the team to start construction on the first affordable housing building in phase one, which is expected to start next year.
Demolition permits have been filed as a part of a new affordable housing project proposed for development at 2700 International Boulevard in Fruitvale, Oakland. The project proposal includes the construction of 75 affordable housing, along with space for retail use and parking in a six-story building. The Unity Council is listed as the project applicant. Preliminary permits have been filed for an affordable senior housing project at 1223 33rd Avenue in Fruitvale, Oakland. The development would replace a vacant parcel with six floors by the neighborhood BART Station. Pyatok Architects is the project applicant and prospective architect.
Construction has finished for Hayden at 815 Old County Road in Belmont, San Mateo County. The five-story building, which has 177 apartments, is now leasing a block away from the city’s Caltrain station. Carmel Partners is the project developer, and Greystar is responsible for property management.
