The main building permits were filed for a new six-story affordable housing development located at 2700 International Boulevard in Oakland. The site is being developed by The Unity Council, and will consist of a mixed-use 100% affordable housing in keeping with the non-profit’s model for development.
Modified plans have been filed for The Village, a planned six-story community center at 80 Julian Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District. The latest application shows that the developer has taken advice from the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development to increase the on-site affordable housing. The Friendship House Association of American Indians is listed as the property owner, working with Equity Community Builders.
Foundation work is underway for the first phase of the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station transit-oriented development in El Cerrito, Contra Costa County. Crews are currently working on the six-story affordable housing complex at 515 Richmond Street, designed by PYATOK. The master plan is a joint venture with Holliday Development, Related California, and Satellite Affordable Housing Associates.
Construction has begun on an affordable housing community at Cypress Point Street in Moss Beach, San Mateo County. The development is looking to replace a former military training ground with 71 homes and an amenity center across 17 buildings. MidPen Housing is the project developer.
Concrete is nearly topping out for the affordable senior housing project rising over the Lake Merritt BART Station in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. Once complete, the eight-story apartment complex is expected to add 97 units above the transit hub and across from the Laney College campus. East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation is responsible for the development.
