The Oakland Planning Commission is scheduled to review reduced plans for the former Oakland Campus for the California College of Arts at 5200 Broadway in Rockridge, Alameda County. The residential capacity has been reduced from 510 to 448 units while preserving the Treadwell Estate with Macky Hall, and the Carriage House. Emerald Fund and Equity Community Builders are the project sponsors.

The meeting comes two weeks after former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi secured $750,000 from the Inflation Reduction Act for the project’s development. Friendship House Association of American Indians is the property owner.

The project would address seismic concerns and expand the religious facility for the Congregation Emanu-El, whose distinctive dome overlooks the affluent gated neighborhood.
