Facade installation has started for the historic Resources Building at 1416 9th Street in Downtown Sacramento. The 17-story building constructed for the California Department of General Services sixty years ago, once the tallest building in Sacramento, is being remodeled with upgraded facilities and a new glassy facade.
Demolition and excavation work is underway for two major projects in the UCSF Parnassus Heights campus in San Francisco. Crews finished removing the seven-story UC Hall, and only a corner of the four-story Mental Health Services building remains as of our visit. The sites are expected to be transformed into a research building and hospital, with both scheduled to finish by 2028 and 2030, respectively.
The Redwood City Planning Commission has approved a five-story life science proposal at 1 Twin Dolphin Drive in the city’s Redwood Shores neighborhood. The plan replaces two low-slung office buildings directly across from the former Oracle Headquarters. Prince Street Partners is the project developer.
Construction is moving ahead for Paseo, a mixed-use commercial building that replaced the former Camera 12 Theater at 201 South Second Street in Downtown San Jose, Santa Clara County. The project has already announced three tenants, with 75,000 square feet of office space still available. The project is part of the Opportunity Zone Fund I by Urban Catalyst.
Developers have filed an application request for demolition of a parking garage on the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center campus to make way for the construction of a new Behavior Health Services Center in Willow Glen, San Jose. The new psychiatric hospital is expected to cost nearly a quarter of a billion dollars. Santa Clara County will run the project.
