Cord Associates is sponsoring the development. Carpira Design Group is the project architect. Shila Yasmeh is the landscape architect, and Kier+Wright is the civil engineer. A & Z Development, a San Jose-based firm run by an individual in San Jose, is the property owner.

City Council Approves 590 Castro Street for Mountain View, Santa Clara County

The Mountain View City Council has approved plans for a four-story commercial office infill across from City Hall and a public park. The project, within Santa Clara County, will replace an existing surface parking lot and single-story structure. The Sobrato Organization is the property owner responsible for the application.

Entitlement Permits Filed for 3200 Park Boulevard, Palo Alto

Downsized entitlement permits have been filed for the mixed-use infill in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The project will replace a former Fry’s building with 74 new townhomes at 3200 Park Boulevard and new R&D office space at 340 Portage Avenue by the California Avenue Caltrain station. The Sobrato Organization is the project developer.

Entitlement Application Filed for Affordable Housing at 3001 El Camino Real, Palo Alto

Charities Housing has applied for entitlement of the five-story affordable housing proposal at 3001 El Camino Real in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The plan will replace a 1.14-acre lot of surface parking and two single-story commercial structures with 129 new homes. The project will benefit from the State Density Bonus program, allowing the developer to increase residential capacity.

Draft EIR Published for BIG-Design Energy Hub Tower

The Draft Environmental Impact Report has been published for the Energy Hub Tower, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group for Downtown San Jose. The proposal aims to create nearly two hundred homes, offices, retail, and public open space all inside a 21-story pants-shaped building. The proposal is part of the Westbank Campus for San Jose, developed in partnership with Urban Community.

The Draft Environmental Impact Report has been published for Orchard Residential, a 30-story mixed-use tower at 409 South 2nd Street in Downtown San Jose. The publication of the Draft EIR starts a 45-day period for public input to influence the Final EIR. Orchard Residential is part of the Westbank Campus, a joint venture with the Canadian developer Westbank and Urban Community.

The project, named EmeryStation Overland, would replace three single-story warehouses with 300,000 square feet and a six-story parking garage. Wareham Development is responsible for the application.

Plans Filed for Redeveloped AB&I Foundry Site, East Oakland

Duke Realty has filed a pre-application for the redevelopment of the AB&I Foundry Site in Oakland’s Coliseum Industrial neighborhood. The plans would demolish the iron foundry, which started in 1906, to build a speculative LEED Silver industrial building with offices, a loading dock, and parking. McWane Inc is the property owner backing this application.

The six-story proposal, along with similar plans for 1073-1087 South Winchester, will create 131 new homes inside the Winchester Boulevard Urban Village Plan.
